Idaho Gold Exploration Project Approval Draws Federal Lawsuit

“The US Forest Service again approved the Kilgore Gold Exploration Project in Idaho without adequate information and without taking into account new circumstances that arose since the prior approval, conservation groups told a federal court in that state.

The agency’s approval of the project violates the National Environmental Policy Act, according to the lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the District of Idaho. The agency also violated the Forest Service Organic Act and mining regulations by failing to adopt reasonable measures to limit harm to the environment and wildlife…”
