How to Halt a Gold Mine in Idaho: The Kilgore Project’s Cyanide Threat [Webinar]

As part of the Greater Yellowstone Coalition’s Spring Forward Webinar Series, GYC’s Idaho Conservation Organizer Tom Hallberg will present about the threats posed by the Kilgore Gold Exploration Project and the work the Clean Kilgore Coalition is doing to stop it.

Nestled in a quiet corner of Idaho, just 60 miles west of Yellowstone National Park, sits a looming threat to clean drinking water, wildlife habitat, and recreational opportunities. A financially unstable Canadian mining company with a track record of empty promises wants to build an open-pit, heap-leach, cyanide gold mine in the foothills of this extraordinary landscape.

The Greater Yellowstone Coalition is a member of the Clean Kilgore Coalition, a group of conservationists, ranchers, recreationists, conservationists, and families committed to protecting eastern Idaho’s waters, lands, and way of life by stopping the Kilgore Gold Exploration Project.
